The Paperboy walks us through the morning routine of a paperboy on his early morning route through a tranquil pre-dawn neighbourhood.
The audiobook's well-timed sound effects, music, and dulcet-toned narrator makes for a therapeutic read. The audio elements transforms the book from a calm read into a morning lullaby, but the lack of visuals beyond the cover somewhat hindered the reading experience.
The author, Dav Pilkey, is best known for his Captain Underpants series which is a massive departure in visuals and tone from The Paperboy. Both works are excellent, a true testament to his brilliance.
