This is a lovely rhyming book focuses on Pride Day and the pride parade that happens in the month a June. This book illustrates the love, compassion, fun, and unity that pride parades have, allowing the reader to smile because of the joy in the book.
The Day in June was banned because of the content and topic, however it's a great read for children ages 5 and up. The appeal to the book is that it shows different perspectives on life without judgment and kids need these perspectives. It is also a genuinely enjoyable book because of the vibrant colors and fun rhymes.
This is an 8/10 for me only because some of the rhymes don’t make sense to me, but the overall book is a lovely read.
