The movie begins with the origin story of how Scooby and Shaggy met and became the dynamic duo that we know and love. It then follows the creation of Mystery Incorporated and the first mysteries they solve together before throwing the characters into a new mystery they must solve to prevent the release of Cerberus.
This reboot of the much beloved franchise felt fresh, new, and succeeded in capturing the heart of the source material. The movie can easily serve as a great starting point to introduce kids to the wondrous world of Scooby-Doo and for some parents it can serve as a trip down memory lane. At least it did for me – as someone who grew up with these characters when I watched the movie and heard the Scooby-Doo, Where Are You? (1969) theme song for the first time in over a decade, I was immediately transported back to my childhood.
