In Starfish, Ellie makes a list of "Fat Girl Rules" to avoid being teased for her size.
Although this book is the length of a chapter book, the fact that it is told entirely in verse makes it a unique and poignant read. Due to its language and subject matter, I would recommend this book for older children. Some readers may be turned away from the poetry structure of this book, especially since it does not rhyme, but for those readers who stick with this book will never forget it.
