This zine is distributed by three teenage activists based in Halifax, with the goal of providing accessible information about feminism for their peers. Each page is concisely written and seeks to explain various issues and concepts that relate to issues currently confronting young people who identify as women. By blending visual comics with short essays across colourful page designs, Women’s Issue acts as a strong first guide for young feminists and is also suitable for young people who are unfamiliar with the goals of advocating for women’s rights.
The zine was produced with a #RisingYouth grant, a partnership that may inspire more young people to seek out self-publishing and writing opportunities.
