Set in the American Midwest in 1958, All These Bodies follows Michael Jensen, the sheriff's son, who longs to become a serious journalist and escape his small town life. When the latest in a string of mysterious murders unfolds leaving one sole survivor, Michael finds himself pulled into the investigation. But not everything is what it seems and soon Michael finds out that there are scarier things in this world than being stuck in a tiny town.
It goes without saying but trigger warnings for All These Bodies include the usual crime & mystery factors such as death, murder, and violence, making the target audience for this novel teens at least 15 years old and up. While All These Bodies sets the stage for a fantastic mystery, the sprinkling of paranormal elements to the plot does weaken what would have been an otherwise stellar crime thriller, though I’m sure many teens would find them a welcome addition.
