The title alone is enough to send shivers up your spine.

Something is not quite right in the town of Kettle Springs, as high school new-kid Quinn Maybrook quickly discovers upon moving there for a fresh-start. Amidst the eerie atmosphere of a southern rural town, is the simmering conflict between rambunctious teenagers and the conservative older folks who live there. Of course, the titular clown in a cornfield emerges as Frendo, a serial killer who hunts the wayward youth with gleeful abandon.

Fans of slasher films will be happy to hear that Cesare takes heavy inspiration from genre movies, complete with use of horror tropes and over-the-top gore. This book should be able to scare and delight even the most seasoned of YA horror readers.
