In Crime Club, Penny’s dog digs up a human bone in the backyard of their new house, drawing Penny and her friends into a mystery that’s over twenty years old. This book is quick and fast-paced with action on every page, which will likely keep the interest of most reluctant readers.
The mystery solving friends and their two dog sidekicks will most likely appeal to fans of the Scooby Doo franchise. Unfortunately, like many books in the hi/lo category, its cover does not do justice to the plot, although the pug is very cute.
