Emo Diary revels in noughties music, celebrities, diary entries, and teenage obsessions and is a digital zine that recreates the experiences of a physical mid-2000s one. With many playlists, it creates a moment of escape into the MySpace era of emo teens and serves as the author’s diary of her teenage years. With beautiful, handcrafted imagery and collages, this zine celebrates the teen experience and allows today’s young adults a beautiful and moody glimpse into the teen experience of two decades ago.
Particularly appealing to those who participate in the stan culture prevalent on the internet today, and the only weakness is that releases are infrequent and there are only four issues from 2018 to the present, although the Instagram page remains somewhat active.
