The Evanston Public Library (EPL)’s site for teen resources is relatively minimal but clearly laid out. Its formatting matches that of the rest of the EPL’s website, which is nice in that it treats its audience as the (young) adults that they are. That said, it would benefit from more colour and a more inviting layout.
The site includes a list of current events intended for teens at the library, a recommended reading gallery, and links to information about the library’s 3D printing service, homework help, teacher services, and booklists. The EPL’s site for teens is much sparser and less engaging than the teen page of the Halifax Public Libraries, for instance, which is similarly dignified in appearance, yet fun.
This site is most useful for audiences hoping to get advice on a book to read, to learn what services are available, or to find out about upcoming events, but does not provide much to stick around for once this information has been found.
