Citation: Swift, T. (2008). "Fifteen" [Recorded by T. Swift]. On Fearless [Album]. Big Machine Records.
"Fifteen" by Taylor Swift is a pop-country song about a girl named Abigail and her life as a fifteen-year-old. She starts by walking into high school, and throughout the song she makes a best friend, falls in love, is embarrassed by her mom, and realizes that fifteen isn’t forever.
A wonderful song that explores common teenage experiences, and feelings of what it is like to be fifteen. This song has no age specific demographics, except that it is relatable to teens. The genre and artist lend themselves to reach a broader audience rather than just teenagers.
I love this song and have no problems because it is one version of high school experiences. It may not be everyone's experience but there are universal themes that are prevalent throughout.
