This beautifully written and detailed award-winning novel grabs the reader from the very first sentence. Daunis Fontaine, an unenrolled tribal member, struggles to find her place among her father’s Ojibwe people, but after witnessing the murder of a friend, she becomes a confidential informant for the FBI in a case that threatens to tear her community apart.

Expertly and authentically narrated, LaBlanc brings Boulley’s characters to life. This is a great book for Indigenous teens looking for representation, but also for anyone who enjoys a good mystery with a little bit of romance.
