Holes is a film adaptation of the popular coming-of-age novel by the same name (Sachar, 1998). After being wrongfully accused of a crime, Stanley ends up at a juvenile detention camp, where they dig holes in the desert. Accompanied by a rag tag crew of other juvenile delinquents, this coming-of-age tale has laughs, triumphs, and a little mystery thrown in for good fun. When Stanley finds a lipstick tube in his hole, the mystery of KB is blown wide open, and it is up to Stanley and Zero to navigate the mystery and not get bitten by the deadly lizards.
This movie is suitable for all ages of young adult viewers, and even younger audiences can enjoy the film. It is a great tale of friendship, hard work, and triumph that the whole family can enjoy.
