Citation: Brozyna, E. (1999-present). J-14. a360media.
First produced in 1999, J-14 has circulated a new issue every month since its start. The magazine includes articles on celebrity gossip, like celebrities most embarrassing secrets, fashion articles, like who wore it better, and personal quizzes, like what summer accessory you should rock. The target reader of J-14 is teenage girls from age 11-19, although anyone with an interest in celebrity gossip or fashion tips may like this magazine.
This magazine, though, is quite problematic. Some of the headlines are misleading or false, and the quizzes often revolve around crushes and boys. My biggest problem with J-14 is that it is not promoting good and kind attributes in young adults, but rather shallow, egotistical, and bully like habits.
