In Moxie, a shy and quiet teen who doesn’t know who she is or what she cares about has her life transformed after a new girl comes to school and begins to be harassed by a popular boy because she spoke up in favour of feminism in class. Angered at the complacency and avoidance present in the face of rampant sexism at her school, she anonymously releases a zine. To her shock, there are more teens who feel the same way than she thought, and together they form a group which begins to completely rock the school's ecosystem.

This movie manages to reflect teens as they are; confused, messy, and dealing with very real issues, while still being a fun, larger than life typical coming of age movie with all the requisite components- the big dance, the high school football team, a much too exuberant English teacher, and a dreamy love-interest.  Rated 14A by Netflix for some discussion of sexual content, and a discussion of rape and rape culture.
