In this warm rom com set in Brazil, our heroine Lari Ramirez reluctantly teams up with the son of her family’s rival bakery to save their families after a chain bakery threatens to ruin both of their businesses.
Their families have been feuding for generations. Lari finds herself jealous of her counterpart, Pedro, as he seems to have inherited a gene for cooking from his family that she certainly did not. We get to know the two as Lari gets herself into all kinds of hilarious clumsy shenanigans.
This is a story for teens in the mood for some hilarious and loveable characters and an enemies-to-lovers story that won’t disappoint, especially if you love in-depth descriptions of food that leave you hungry! This book is plainly written, accessible and likely mostly trigger-free, aside from the death of Lari’s grandmother at the beginning of the story.
