Splatoon is a third-person shooter game where the goal is splashing more paint onto the area than the opposing team. Players must work together with their teams, playing live online, to balance offensive and defensive strategies, like splashing enemy players with your colour of paint and creating new paths of paint in new areas or over enemy territory. Players can choose different weapons, ranging from large paint rollers to futuristic paint guns and is a very easy game to learn and play without memorizing a large range of button combinations.
It is an excellent game for video game novices and features fun, colourful animation that appeals to players ranging from children to adults. It is also a good option for players who enjoy the gameplay of shooting games, but who may not enjoy the violence or gore present in most of them.
