Full of fun and informative articles, book reviews and art pieces, Newfoundland and Labrador Public Libraries’ (NLPL) TeenZine is facilitated by Emily Blackmore, head of collections for NLPL. This zine is made using a typical libguide format, which is such a creative, new way to use that format. Getting teens involved in guiding other teens as to what to read is a wonderful community-led idea. With sections like #covidlife and “terrifying teen-tober”, the zine truly intends on connecting teens with each other over shared interests. It makes no attempt to control what teens are posting, allowing the zine to be entirely teen-led and interest-driven. The result is a zine that is fun, free-flowing, low pressure, and full of art for art’s sake. It is a wonderful example of a zine for teens and I would highly recommend it for teens and adults alike.
