Kristen White defies traditional folk tales about the Kingdom of Camelot by reimagining the character of Guinevere as having married King Arthur because he needs her magical protection.

Guinevere, who is not really Guinevere, arrives in Camelot at 16 years old to marry King Arthur as arranged by her father Merlin. She was sent by Merlin to protect Arthur from harm using her magic, even though magic is banned from Camelot! She must keep her magic a secret from her new friends while protecting Arthur from the forces that mean him harm.

We re-meet and fall in love with the revised characters of King Arthur and his friends, and we learn what it means to trust in yourself, your power, and what everyone brings to the (round) table. This book will be fun for old fans of the Camelot stories and new readers alike. For romantic themes, this book would likely be appropriate for ages 13 and up.
