The Kissing Booth is a teen romantic comedy released on Netflix that was so successful they turned it into a trilogy. Elle has a crush on her best friend’s older brother, and after connecting at a school fundraiser kissing booth, learns that the feeling is mutual and pursues a relationship with him secretly, so as to not upset her friend.
Like many similar teen chick flicks, this movie has lots of probably unnecessary drama but a happy ending and is fun to watch in an uncomplicated way. Appealing for its light tone, attractive people, and fun vibe, any teen who enjoys a somewhat cliché romantic story with a healthy helping of mostly harmless drama will enjoy themselves.
