Celebrating the franchise’s 25-year history, The Ultimate Guide to Pokémon seeks to be just that. Included are articles about movies, anime, and video games, as well as a look at the impact of things like Pokémon Go, and the very nature of the series’ longevity.
The magazine is similar to many special interest features, as magazine stands have plenty of other magazines about video games, cars and movies among others.
While celebratory of features from games that are decades old, the magazine is written for a pre-teen audience. While several articles are thorough and in-depth, clearly some articles are filler, with little more to offer than facts without insight.
This is a welcome and quick read for any looking to revel in their knowledge of Pokémon, or who are looking to connect with someone more knowledgeable than themselves.
