The YA Podcast discusses a range of young adult literature and is for anyone (young or old) who loves YA lit, or who is reluctant to read it wants to learn more. This podcast ran for almost five years, recording its final episode earlier this year. Throughout its run, the hosts Teffer, Kadi, and Bailey, reviewed a mixture of new releases and old favourites that had an impact on them as teenagers and young adults. The podcasters also frequently chose diverse books, as well as books that did not necessarily make it into the mainstream.
This podcast feels very much like a book club that the listener is invited to sit in on. The podcasters would always announce the next book ahead of time so that listeners could read it, if they wanted to, prior to listening to the discussion. Despite no longer releasing new episodes, the YA Podcast is still worth listening to for book recommendations and a better understanding of how young adult literature isn’t just for teenagers.
