The Summer Between Us by Andre Fenton was published in 2022 by Formac Publishing Company Limited in Halifax Nova Scotia. This book tells the story of eighteen-year-old Adrian Carter trying to decide between taking a cross-country road trip with his girlfriend, or to fulfill his father’s wish by going straight to university to study business directly after high school, all while navigating his relationships, responsibilities, and personal issues of eating disorders and the way he is treated for being biracial.
The Summer Between Us is a realistic depiction on the struggles of highschoolers to not disappoint their loved ones and families while still being true to themselves, and discovering the complications and consequences of being an adult and member of society while finding ways to tell your story the way you want.
