In this book, there are no people left on earth due to climate change. Everything people built is destroyed, but things become peaceful as nature reclaims the world.
This book is appealing for its interesting artwork and discussion of an important issue. It is similar to Astrophysics for Young People in a Hurry (2017; see our review here), as it teaches young readers about the world.
This book is designed to encourage kids to care about the environment; however, this could have been accomplished in a better way. One potential weakness is that the lack of a main character makes it difficult to connect to the book. It reads more like nonfiction told in a story format rather than fiction. Overall, there is value to this book, but I did not personally enjoy reading it.
