Each story provides cultural knowledge to the reader and allows a small insight into the folktales that are shared elsewhere in the world (including the similarities of storytelling). The beauty of this anthology is the added charm from each of the authors, bringing their own distinct style and voice to the table.
You can read at your own pace while feeling accomplished that you have read a full story. A Thousand Beginnings and Endings would be a great way of (re)introducing yourself to anthologies.
