Ginny and Georgia is a show produced by Netflix that centers on the life and stories of fifteen-year-old Ginny and her thirty-year-old mother Georgia, following along in their development, friendships, love interests, and their complicated relationship with each other as they move to a wealthy suburb in Massachusetts, USA and settle down for the first time.
This show is aimed at teenagers and is not only well developed in its character and story lines, but addresses issues, stories, and mannerisms common to teens. While many of the plot points are dramatized for television, the characters, relationships, emotions, and reactions they portray are directly relatable to teens, demonstrating the show, its writers, and its actors have a deep understanding of teens and how they respond and feel in various realistic high school situations. Its relateability, ability to tap into nuanced, deep, and complicated issues teens face, and over production make this show worthy of a recommendation.
