Sex Education is a teen comedy about an awkward teenage boy whose mother is a Sex Therapist. Misinformation about sex and sexuality is flourishing in his school, so he decides to open a sex clinic by taking information he’s learned from his mother and using it to educate and help his classmates with their questions, concerns, and sexual insecurities.
If nothing else, this show is fun, but it’s so much more than that. It offers progressive, sex-positive, and information-based sexual advice and education to teens. In addition, the cast of this show and the topics covered are diverse. Sex Education does not shy away from gender identity, sexual identity, racial identity, or disability. Although geared towards teens, it also depicts adult sexuality—sex is not just for young people. And adult viewers are sure to learn from this show as well.
