Sex Education: the title says it all. It’s a straight up show about the challenges teens face when trying to understand taboo topics about sex and sexual health. Otis and Mauve team up to provide advice to teens in need, for a bit of cash. Otis’s qualifications only come from what he has learned from his mom, who is a sex therapist, but he tries to help his schoolmates as best he can.
The dynamic series provides an authentic glimpse at the different ways that teens are exposed to sex and how they express their sexuality. Similar to The Sex Lives of College Girls (Kaling, 2021-present), and Derry Girls (Lennox, 2018-2022), the series offers insights into teenage lives and the mistakes they make while just trying to figure it out. The series is recommended for ages eighteen and above because although the positive and heartfelt tone is consistent, there is also mature content.
